Academic & Athletic Success
Appalachian State University student-athletes have a long tradition of success, both academically and athletically. For 13 consecutive semesters Appalachian’s student-athletes have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. We attribute much of that success to the amazing faculty and staff that are a part of the Appalachian State community. Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASA), in conjunction with the Athletics Department, has created the Faculty/Staff Guest program as a way to acknowledge and thank our Appalachian faculty/staff for the hard work, dedication and time given to our student-athletes.
A Day in the Life of a Student-Athlete
The goals of this program are to provide an avenue for our student-athletes to show appreciation and gratitude for the faculty/staff, and to allow faculty/staff to gain a deeper understanding of the student-athlete experience by getting an inside look at the daily life of student-athletes at Appalachian State University. We want to further develop and maintain a campus environment that facilitates communication and collaboration among faculty/staff, ASA academic advisors, university administration and athletics staff, who assist student-athletes in meeting their academic, career and personal goals.
