Mady Rizzo Fitzgerald joined Student Support Services (SSS) in January 2017 as the First Year Seminar and Rhetoric and Composition instructor and an advisor for the program.
Before joining the Student Learning Center team, Mady worked with AmeriCorps VISTA at Warren Wilson College and taught English as an adjunct instructor at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Institute in Asheville, NC. An Appalachian alum, Mady received her Bachelor's degree in English Literature in 2010 and her Master's in English with a concentration in Community College Teaching in 2014. She served as a graduate assistant for SSS in the Student Learning Center from 2012-2013.
Born in Ohio, but raised in North Carolina, Mady has called the Appalachian mountains home for the majority of her life. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and enjoying time with her husband, dog, and two cats.
