Sun Belt Announces 2020-21 Academic Honors

The Sun Belt Conference added nearly 2,500 student-athletes to the Commissioner’s List and Academic Honor Roll for the 2020-21 school year. Those recognized included 1,373 student-athletes on the Commissioner’s List and 1,018 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll list.

The Commissioner's List honors student-athletes who earned a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or better during the 2020-21 academic year while the Academic Honor Roll honors those student-athletes who maintained a GPA between 3.00 and 3.49 for the academic year.

“We celebrate the academic achievements of these remarkable student-athletes,” said Sun Belt Commissioner Keith Gill. “We’re extremely proud of their ability to shine at academics while competing in their sports at the highest level.”

App State led the way with an athletic program average GPA of 3.42. App State had the most student-athletes named as honorees (158 on the Commissioner’s List and 113 on the Academic Honor Roll). The Mountaineers’ women’s cross country team recorded the highest team GPA out of the school’s 14 programs with a 3.70 GPA.
