This course is an exploration of the cultural implications of LGBTQ people, places, events, and issues on America and how we as Appalachian State college students engage with this culture on and off campus. Students will learn a wealth of LGBTQ history while looking at events through the perspective of other cultures, engaging with local politics, and identifying local LGBTQ communities and their efforts. Students will also learn key skills that will make them successful and prepared for college coursework as well as the resources and knowledge required of them to complete quality academic writing.
NOTE: This course is offered as a hybrid (at least 50% online). Note required meeting time and location for this section.
