Your Home, Your Stories

Tales of the tall hills have always drawn people to this region of Western North Carolina. Through this course we will be exploring defining moments in the region's history and give a sense of place in your new home. Starting with indigenous peoples and ending with the modern High Country, students will discover what makes Boone a unique and diverse community. Together we will unpack stories of meaning, struggle, hardship, triumph, oppression, and justice as you develop research skills and become a part of a vibrant campus community.
